Jo McCarthy Personal Training & Massage Therapy

General

By booking personal training or massage therapy services, you agree to these Terms and Conditions.

Health and Medical Information

Clients must disclose any relevant medical conditions, injuries, allergies, medications, pregnancy, or other health concerns prior to attending appointments.

Failure to disclose relevant information may result in training or treatment being modified, postponed or refused.

Health Changes and Client Responsibilities

Clients are responsible for informing Jo McCarthy of any changes to their health, medical conditions, injuries, medications, pregnancy status or other relevant circumstances before each personal training or massage therapy appointment.

Failure to disclose relevant information may result in training or treatment being modified, postponed or discontinued where necessary for the safety and wellbeing of the client.

Consultation Forms

A consultation form, health questionnaire and any required waivers must be completed before personal training or massage therapy services are provided.

Clients confirm that all information supplied is accurate to the best of their knowledge and agree to notify Jo McCarthy of any relevant changes to their health status.

Personal Training

All exercise programmes, recommendations and coaching services are provided based on the information supplied by the client.

Clients participate in exercise at their own risk and are responsible for following instructions provided during sessions.

Massage Therapy

Massage therapy is provided for relaxation, wellbeing and muscular health purposes only and is not a substitute for medical diagnosis, treatment or advice from a qualified healthcare professional.

Clients must disclose any medical conditions, injuries, allergies or contraindications before treatment.

Right to Refuse or Discontinue Services

Jo McCarthy reserves the right to refuse, modify, postpone or discontinue any personal training session or massage treatment if it is considered unsafe, inappropriate or not in the client's best interests to proceed.

This may include, but is not limited to:

  • Undisclosed medical conditions or injuries

  • Contraindications to massage therapy

  • Illness or infection

  • Signs of intoxication

  • Unsafe client behaviour

  • Circumstances where professional referral or medical clearance is recommended

Where a session or treatment is discontinued for health and safety reasons, alternative arrangements may be discussed where appropriate.

Professional Scope of Practice

Jo McCarthy provides personal training and massage therapy services within the scope of her qualifications, training and insurance cover.

Personal training and massage therapy are not a substitute for medical diagnosis, treatment or advice from a qualified healthcare professional. Clients are encouraged to seek appropriate medical advice where necessary.

Appointments and Cancellations

A minimum of 24 hours' notice is required for cancellations or rescheduling.

Appointments cancelled with less than 24 hours' notice may be charged at the full appointment fee.

Failure to attend an appointment without notice may result in the full appointment fee being charged.

Late Arrivals

Late arrival may result in a shortened session to avoid delaying subsequent appointments. The full appointment fee will still apply.

Payments

Payment is due at the time of booking unless otherwise agreed.

Prices are subject to change and will be updated on the website where applicable.

Refunds

Refunds are not normally provided for completed services.

Requests relating to exceptional circumstances will be considered at the discretion of Jo McCarthy.

Liability

While every reasonable effort is made to provide safe and effective services, Jo McCarthy accepts no responsibility for injury, loss or damage arising from:

  • Failure to follow professional advice

  • Failure to disclose relevant health information

  • Information provided by the client that is inaccurate or incomplete

  • Circumstances beyond reasonable control

Nothing within these Terms and Conditions excludes liability where such exclusion would be unlawful under UK law.

Changes to These Terms

These Terms and Conditions may be updated from time to time. The most current version will always be available on this website.
